The current consultant position is not tied to a service requirement-eligible contract. However, Ipsos is executing multiple service-eligible contracts on which you may be placed at a later date.



We are looking to contract with a consultant to join as a Risk Analyst Consultant with regional expertise in the Middle East to conduct research and analysis on conflict, complex emergency response, and reconstruction. The candidate will be expected to do independent desk research, pull social media data, maintain complex databases, and author synthetic analytic reports. The taskings will involve a mix of independent work as well as working very closely with multiple team members with diverse skillsets to deliver integrated products.

Responsibilities
A great candidate will be a self-starter with strong work ethic, flexibility to adapt to shifting requirements and work patterns, and propensity to work within high op tempo conditions.

Sample duties:

- Identify social media and other research sources

- Conduct primary research in languages other than English (priority language is Arabic, other languages also considered) on the subjects of social and environmental risks in the international development space

- Extract data into complex databases

- Provide social network analysis findings

- Author concise analytic reports and present findings to team members

Requirements
Conditions of Employment
This is for a consultant position. Considering full and part-time. 40 hours per week availability is preferred. Please apply soon, as this will be filled on a rolling basis.
Qualifications
- Experience using social media and a variety of open-source research methods, including the ability to identify emerging trends or important developments

- Experience building databases

- Experience in conflict and risk analysis

-Experience with international development

- Skills in foreign-language research are strongly desired. Target language is Arabic. Other languages are desired, as well.

- Specify which Middle East/North Africa countries you have professional or academic experience working in/on

- Demonstrated ability to work well both independently and as part of a team and to meet deadlines

- Excellent analysis, writing, and briefing skills

- BA + 1-3 years of experience or MA

- Experience collecting data on, analyzing, and/or visualizing social networks and complex social, organizational, and/or geopolitical dynamics

- Experience working within diverse teams, including members with data science, software engineering, and/or geospatial analysis skillsets
