Duties
Summary
The Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) requires current Federal government civilian employees for 30 to 120-day deployment details to support ORR at facilities for unaccompanied children. Details will involve contact with migrant children and a variety of federal and non-federal entities, possibly including HHS, DHS, American Red Cross, and other Federal employees. This is a reimbursable detail. Travel, lodging and per diem will be provided by ORR. The detail is not a promotion opportunity.
Responsibilities
Preferred Spanish proficiency as well as those familiar with indigenous dialects spoken in Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, and/or El Salvador.

Maintain line of sight and supervision of children.

Assess the needs of unaccompanied children in care.

Interview unaccompanied children in CBP custody and collect contact information for parents in home country and family members in the US.

Efficiently collect and provide information to ORR to enable the National Call Center to begin contacting parents and family members to expedite children's discharge to a US family member sponsor.

Assist CBP and ORR in identifying children requiring prioritization for placement based on vulnerable category or time in CBP custody.

Requirements
Conditions of Employment
Current Federal employees who have served with their current agency for more than 90 days and are no longer in a probationary period.

Employees in a good performance standing and have no current or pending disciplinary actions.

Possess a current background investigation.

Possess an HSPD-12 compliant identification badge (e.g., PIV, Military ID).

Must possess a DCSA background investigation containing childcare checks or complete an OFI Form 86C to begin a childcare background check prior to deployment.

U.S. Citizenship required.

Completion of the Supervisory Permission form.

Have a government issued travel card (preferred).
Qualifications
Spanish language proficiency preferred.

Possess organizational experience in planning, organizing, and prioritizing tasks.

Experience in problem-solving skills with impeccable multi-tasking abilities and ability to meet varying deadlines.

Effectively collaborate and communicate with varying levels of senior managers, staff members, and external groups.

Strong oral and written communication skills with ability to draft communications utilizing information from multiple sources.

Ability to prioritize and process information based upon context and situational awareness.
